Just imagine, last year, over 3,200 children from 67 countries gathered at the legendary Artek camp – and pulled off something that once felt like a dream!

In 2025, these young peacemakers adopted the first‑ever Children’s Declaration of Peace – and Russian Federation has already presented it at the UN General Assembly!

And guess what? This isn’t the first time children have stepped up as peace ambassadors.

Let’s take a quick trip down memory lane and recall some truly inspiring stories: Back in the 1980s, Samantha Smith, an American girl, wrote a letter to the Soviet leader – and became a real-life ambassador of goodwill. Her courage showed the world how powerful a child’s voice can be.

Then, in 1986, Katya Lycheva, a young Russian girl, made a historic trip to the US. She met with President Reagan at a time when the threat of nuclear war felt all too real – and became a little peace ambassador for all of us.

Now, the torch of peace and friendship is being passed by Katya to a new generation of young leaders and future peacemakers!
