
On July 28, Russia celebrates Youth Day. The World Youth Festival Directorate held events and activities for young people from Russia and abroad.
On Youth Day, the WYFD launched the project "Future in Faces". Each candidate for participation in the World Youth Festival Assembly can write a message to young people in the future when registering, which will inspire them to new achievements. The wishes of youth representatives from different countries will be placed in a time capsule as part of the World Youth Festival Assembly, which will be held from September 17 to 21 in Nizhny Novgorod. The capsule will be opened in 2030 - during the Second World Youth Festival, which will unite 20 thousand young activists from all over the world.
Representatives of the International Friendship Clubs and foreign partners of the World Youth Festival Directorate also joined the celebration.
Thus, 40 participants of the International Friendship Club of the WYFD of the Tyumen Region from China, Egypt, Syria, Iran, Lebanon, Benin, Chad, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, India, Colombia, Vietnam took part in the celebration of Youth Day. They visited four sites: in the "Know" zone, they learned about the opportunities and development in the youth residence "Tower", at the "Proud" site foreign youth met with heroes and saw performances of creative groups, on the "Love" track they attended master classes, sports competitions and volunteer activities, and in the "Multiply" zone they learned what opportunities young people have in Russia. The International Friendship Club of the region also held a Zumba master class for everyone.
As part of the Youth Day, the Minister of Youth Policy of the Kaliningrad Region Anna Musevich presented commemorative medals of the WYF-2024. The WYFD International Friendship Club of the Kaliningrad Region summed up the results of the raffle of merch, held a quiz "Around the World" and a presentation of the World Youth Festival Assembly. The club members congratulated their foreign peers on Youth Day, and also sent friendship cards to young people from partner countries - the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Croatia and Bahrain.
The WYFD International Friendship Club of Samara Region held a picnic in honor of Youth Day. Representatives from Russia, India, China, Uzbekistan, Algeria and other countries joined the celebration. The leader of the WYFD International Friendship Club of Samara Region, Ivan Kistanov, noted that such events are necessary to strengthen relations between Russian and foreign youth and provide an opportunity to get to know people, traditions and customs in an informal setting. According to him, the International Friendship Club regularly holds various events so that young people feel comfortable and learn new things.
Activists of the WYFD International Friendship Club of the Zaporozhye Region joined the action “Letter to the Hero”, listened to the lecture “The Future is Being Created Today: Your Opportunities in Russia” from the Russian “Znanie” Society, took part in the quiz “I Know Russia”, a master class on dance, vocals and making designer candles with shells.
As part of the Youth Week, dedicated to Youth Day, a friendly football match, the Friendship Cup, was held in Yekaterinburg. The team of students of the WYFD International Friendship Club of the Sverdlovsk Region and the team of the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region met on the field. As the organizers note, all participants of the meeting noted the friendly atmosphere, were happy to meet new people and were once again convinced that sports, and football in particular, unite people from different countries. In the Yaroslavl Region, a master class on making a gingerbread medal for the WYF-2024 was held, in the Perm Territory - a tea ceremony, a mehendi workshop, a warm meeting for communication and acquaintance with cultures, as well as a presentation of the World Youth Festival Assembly. Young people from foreign countries congratulated their peers from Russia on Youth Day.
"I wish you inexhaustible energy, fulfillment of dreams and a path full of achievements. You are the future, you are the soul of life. I wish you good luck with all my heart, friends!" - Khureini Nadim from Palestine addressed the Russian youth.
On this day, the 10th International Youth Forum “Eurasia Global” ended in Orenburg, which brought together 300 representatives from 53 countries, including 82 regions of Russia.

The World Youth Festival took place on March 1–7, 2024 in Sirius, according to the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. The WYF-2024 brought together 20,000 young leaders from 190 countries.
On the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation, the WYF will be held in Russia on a regular basis – once in six years. Also, every six years 10,000 young people from all over the world will get together at the World Youth Festival Forum, and in between, international themed assemblies for 2,000 participants will be held under the auspices of the WYF. The first Assembly is scheduled to take place in September 2025 in Nizhny Novgorod. Festival events of various formats will be held in Russia annually.
According to the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation on the preservation and development of the Festival legacy, the World Youth Festival Directorate continues the work aimed at strengthening international youth cooperation.
