The presidential platform “Russia – Country of Opportunities” has prepared a unique event at its booth for participants of the World Youth Festival Assembly, held in Nizhny Novgorod on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation. Each participant of the Assembly can send a collectible postcard “From Russia with Love” with messages to their relatives, friends, and colleagues anywhere in the world. The images on the postcards represent Russian cultural traditions, telling us about the richness and diversity of Russian fairy tales and conveying the warmth of the Russian soul.
At the Main Fair House, participants of the World Youth Festival Assembly at the booth of the presidential platform “Russia — Country of Opportunities” are immersed in the atmosphere of true Russian hospitality, learn about crafts, play folk instruments, weave wreaths, immerse themselves in fairy tales, communicating with a magic mirror and, of course, participating in setting a record high for friendly hugs.
All participants can share their warm emotions, convey their vivid impressions, and tell about their new friends and experiences obtained at the Assembly by sending a postcard via Russian Post directly from the presidential platform's booth in hospitable Nizhny Novgorod to anywhere in the world.
These unique collectible postcards are printed in a limited edition of only 4,000 copies and available only at the World Youth Festival Assembly. Each postcard represents Russia's cultural code. Russian culture is rich in traditions and symbols that are clear and close to people from all over the world.
The bear-joker seems to have come straight out of a cheerful Dymkovo toy. In a bright embroidered shirt, it is stout and clumsy, as if molded in baked clay. In its paws it holds a traditional balalaika, and it has started dancing in the middle of a circle of slender birches, their trunks outlined with brushstrokes, as if by the hand of a master from Gorodets. The entire postcard exudes the spirit of a folk fair, a merry celebration where even the forest king becomes a participant in the general festivities. It is a symbol of hospitable, generous, and somewhat fairy-tale Russia, where the wild and the domestic merge in one lively dance.
The Firebird from Russian legends has come to life on another postcard, but it appears not in its fiery guise, but in a refined outfit worthy of a Khokhloma brush. Its feathers are whimsical herbal patterns, curving in swirls against the blue sky background. With each flap of its wings, ready to lift it up, strange scarlet flowers scatter and bloom around it, lush as paradise bushes, painted with rich, flaming colors. This image is the embodiment of dreams, miracles, and happiness, which is about to take flight and shower everyone who looks at it with grace. It is a classic symbol of good luck and the fulfillment of wishes, with roots going deep into Slavic folklore.
Behind the dancing couple lies not just a background, but an entire universe — a lush carpet pattern. It is woven from magical rosette flowers and exotic curling leaves that blaze with cinnabar and sparkle with cobalt blue. The swan maiden and the handsome young man are as young and spirited as the Assembly’s participants themselves, seemingly flying in an elegant whirl of Russian dance. It seems as if you can hear the ringing dance to the music of the harmonica. It is a hymn to youth, beauty, and love, enclosed in the eternal round dance of national folk ornament.
Another postcard from the collectible series takes us to the heart of the Nizhny Novgorod region, famous for its traditions of wooden architecture. This is not just an image, but the finest lace, carved not from fabric, but from the sun and wood. The window frames of the invisible window into the Russian soul, are striking in their virtuoso workmanship. Each curl, each leaf is carved with love, as if the master put not only his skill but also a part of his heart into them. This image is the embodiment of home, warmth, and hospitality. It reminds us that Russia is open to the world, just as this window is open to the light, and that its culture is a rich heritage where history, art, and boundless opportunities for artistic endeavors. This is a message that true beauty lies in the details, and strength lies in preserving one's roots.
By choosing one of the unique postcards created by the designers of the presidential platform “Russia — Country of Opportunities”, each of which is a true work of art inspired by the great Russian folk crafts, the WYF Assembly’s participants will have the opportunity to create their own lively and warm message. This will not be a faceless digital signal, but a real, tangible part of the Assembly — a postcard that you can hold in your hands, examine, fill with your own text and drawings, and then send directly from the booth. By writing down their most cherished wishes, dreams for the future, or simple words of support, participants from different regions of Russia and different countries will be able to emphasize once again how the WYF Assembly erases borders and unites the young people over the globe with common aspirations and sincere friendship. They will be able to send greetings “From Russia with love” to their loved ones — parents, friends, colleagues — so that they too can feel the unique atmosphere of hospitality and openness prevailing around at the WYF Assembly. Someone may want to send a postcard to himself/herself in the future — as a time capsule filled with emotions and hopes from this grand event, as a reminder that any dream is achievable because Russia is a country of opportunities. Each such message will become a unique artifact, a tangible testimony to the warm relations between peoples and warm memories of the hospitable Russian land.
And very soon, these 4,000 postcards, like real paper ambassadors of friendship, will fly from Nizhny Novgorod around the world thanks to the Russian Post, to deliver to their recipients not just words, but a piece of the soul of our Assembly and the warmth of a huge country that is always happy to welcome guests.
