In November, the Representative Office of the World Youth Festival Directorate opened in Sukhumi, Abkhazia. This is the first platform for young people from Abkhazia to work directly with Russian initiatives.
Already during the first days of operation, a large ethnographic dictation was organized. Participants had to answer 30 questions about the people of Russia and CIS countries, their culture, traditions, and common history. The youth of Abkhazia also participated in the Health Routes festival. Participants covered the distance by running, cycling, and Nordic walking. The start took place in Mykuashta, and the finish was at the hippodrome in Mokva village, where a festive concert awaited the athletes. The festival was a test event before the launch of the Sports and Tourism Cluster of the same name, scheduled to open in May 2026. The project was initiated by the Abkhaz Team with the support of the World Youth Festival Directorate.
On November 7, Beslan Arshba, the Head of the Youth Policy Department at the State Committee for Youth and Sports, met with young people from Abkhazia at the WYFD Representative Office. The meeting was dedicated to discussing topical issues, ideas, and initiatives aimed at promoting the development of the youth environment, as well as joint projects for the future.
The youth of Abkhazia also took part in the Global Atomic Quiz online. In 2025, the quiz will be held in 16 languages, and in Abkhazia, the event is organized by the Rosatom State Corporation with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Abkhazia and organized by the Representative Office of the World Youth Festival Directorate in Abkhazia.
It is planned to hold a variety of sports, cultural, and educational events at the WYFD Representative Office. Young people in Abkhazia will benefit from lectures on entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, ecology, financial literacy, as well as a republican campaign to help animals. They will also have the opportunity to meet with bloggers and leading experts, participate in pitch sessions organized by the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Team of Abkhazia," take part in a workshop on pottery and public speaking, attend a youth art market, and watch a screening of short films about the Great Patriotic War in order to preserve historical memory.
The official opening ceremony for the World Youth Festival Directorate's Representative Office in Abkhazia will take place soon. It is hoped that this site will become a hub for the active young people of the republic, offering new opportunities for international collaboration and personal growth.
