The regional center hosted a ceremony awarding the activists of the World Youth Festival from the Orenburg region with honorary medals and certificates of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

The event was held as part of the program of the X International Youth Forum "Eurasia Global". The awards were presented by Yuri Leskin, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, and Vakhtang Hiklandze, Deputy Director General of the Directorate of the World Youth Festival.

"When we talk about the legacy of the World Youth Festival, we are talking primarily about people. It's great that you continue to develop projects and come to various international events. And we are acting in unison with you," said Vakhtang Hikladze.

He spoke about the development of the WYF's post-festival heritage and what projects and events are planned to be implemented in the future. A new significant event is World Youth Festival Assembly, which will be held this year in Nizhny Novgorod and will bring together 2,000 people from all over the world. Yuri Leskin shared the key projects of the Rosmolodezh forum campaign that may be of interest to foreign youth.

During the dialogue, participants and honored guests discussed issues of supporting the International Friendship Clubs, talked about the formats for broadcasting club members' projects to a wide audience, including the publication of books.

The leaders and participants of the International Friendship Clubs, the flagship project of the Directorate of the World Youth Festival, continue to engage in the development of youth international relations within the framework of the activities of the IFC. They also actively participate in the X International Youth Forum "Eurasia Global". The forum is organized by the Government of the Orenburg Region, co–organized by the World Youth Festival Directorate with the support of the Federal Agency of Youth Affairs.

Overview:

The World Youth Festival took place on March 1–7, 2024 in Sirius, according to the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. The WYF-2024 brought together 20,000 young leaders from 190 countries.

On the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation, the WYF will be held in Russia on a regular basis – once in six years. Also, every six years 10,000 young people from all over the world will get together at the World Youth Festival Forum, and in between, international themed assemblies for 2,000 participants will be held under the auspices of the WYF. The first Assembly is scheduled to take place in September 2025 in Nizhny Novgorod. Festival events of various formats will be held in Russia annually.

According to the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation on the preservation and development of the Festival legacy, the World Youth Festival Directorate continues the work aimed at strengthening international youth cooperation.
