The symbolic clock in Nizhny Novgorod began the countdown on June 24 during the celebration of Youth Day. The clock displays the time remaining until the start of the World Youth Festival (WYF) 2024. The Festival will gather guests at the Sirius federal center in Sochi from March 1st to 7th.
According to Ksenia Razuvaeva, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, “One of the goals of WFM-2024 is to create a platform for communications among caring young people from all over the world. The festival venue will become the capital of the future fair world, where the central role is played by respect for each other, for values and culture of different countries and nations. Russia is open to all those who strive to improve the world and create a future based on mutual dialogue and fair international cooperation.”
Our country has already hosted the World Youth Festival three times; and the coming one will be even better and brighter, the organizers believe. “It is very important to make it in such a manner that every young person from this or a foreign country will come and remember the Forum as a busy, educational, business, and cultural event,” said Denis Ashirov, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.
The World Youth Festival will be held at the Sirius Federal Center in Sochi from March 1 to March 7, 2024.
The Festival logo depicts a stylized image of human figures. It is a symbol of people united by a common dream — a desire to live in a world where everyone can be who they are. The circle appearing in the logo is not closed — it is a sign that the future is open to everyone.
The main point of the Forum is the need to build ties between young and active people from all over the world, who will have to create a common future together on the basis of a fair and just world order. Its basement is cooperation and a balance of interests.
“A festival channel will be launched so that everyone can find out what is happening there online on any gadget, on any platform, watch main events and show programs, be together with those who are there,” says Maxim Dreval, General Director of Russian Society “Znanie”. “I suppose, that this channel, will eventually work round-the-clock — we have a big country.”
Youth Day in the city on the Volga River took place under heightened security measures. The program of the celebration was quite consistent with the current situation. Participants in the special military operation trained those who wished to disassemble and assemble machine guns, and practice first aid. Volunteers told what kind of help the soldiers needed, how to weave camouflage nets and make trench candles. The event culminated in a theatrical ice-show by famous figure-skater Ilya Averbukh. The main characters were young people who manifested themselves in different fields and inspired others.
