On March 10, representatives of the World Youth Festival Directorate took part in the international conference "Vietnam-Russia Academic Space: Cooperation in Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Digital Age". The event was held at Hanoi State University and brought together representatives of the academic community, experts and youth leaders from Russia and Vietnam.
During the conference, the participants discussed the prospects for the development of academic exchange, joint scientific research and digital educational projects, as well as the role of youth in strengthening international humanitarian cooperation.
Artem Fomin, First Deputy Director General of the World Youth Festival Directorate, made an opening remark.
"The youth of Russia and Vietnam have traditionally played an important role in strengthening humanitarian ties between our countries. Today, it is young researchers, students and community leaders who make a significant contribution to the development of academic cooperation, create joint educational and scientific initiatives, forming a solid foundation for further Russian-Vietnamese partnership. We highly appreciate the interest and active participation of Vietnamese youth in international projects and will be glad to see young Vietnamese leaders among the participants of the International Festival of Youth. I am convinced that the Festival will become an important platform for an open dialogue, exchange of experience and development of new joint initiatives between representatives of the younger generation of our countries," said Artem Fomin, First Deputy Director General of the World Youth Festival Directorate.
Key Russian projects and initiatives for the international youth community were also introduced at the event. A total of 120 representatives of Vietnamese and Russian universities and public associations learned about the International Festival of Youth, the largest youth event of 2026, which will take place from September 11 to 17 in Ekaterinburg and will bring together 10,000 participants from 190 countries. The conference highlighted the role of the World Youth Festival 2024 and the World Youth Festival Assembly 2025 in strengthening international cooperation between Russia and Vietnam in the field of youth policy.
The conference was held within the framework of the Year of Science and Education of Vietnam and Russia and was aimed at developing cooperation between universities and research organizations of the two countries in the context of the rapid development of digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
The conference was co-organized by the “Traditions and Friendship” Foundation under the Union of Vietnamese Organizations in the Russian Federation. The event was supported by the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Russian Federation.

The World Youth Festival took place on March 1–7, 2024 at “Sirius”, according to the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. The WYF-2024 brought together 20,000 young leaders from 190 countries.
In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on preserving and developing the legacy of the World Youth Festival, festival events on the territory of the Russian Federation will be held annually. The World Youth Festival Assembly was held in Nizhny Novgorod in 2025 and brought together 2,000 young people from 120 countries. In 2026, the International Festival of Youth will be gather 10,000 participants. The next World Youth Festival for 20,000 participants will be held in 2030.
The World Youth Festival Directorate continues the work aimed at strengthening international youth cooperation and developing a community of young people who care about the future of the world.
