On August 9, talks were held between representatives of the World Youth Festival Directorate and leaders of the Embassy of Pakistan in Russia. Advisor Salman Pervaiz and Second Secretary Jetha Nand represented the Embassy.
The sides discussed the need to strengthen and expand Russian-Pakistani cooperation in the field of youth policy. Pakistani diplomats expressed their support for Russia's efforts to develop the international youth movement and praised the high level of event organization by the Directorate.
“Russia is an important partner for Pakistan. We would like as many young people from Pakistan as possible to come to Russia, experience its culture, and interact with Russian youth. This way, young people from Pakistan would have a positive impression of Russia, and their Russian peers would gain a better understanding of our country. Connections among young people are very important. The majority of Pakistan's population is young, and in a few years, they will be the ones to run the country and participate in government and political activities”, stated Salman Pervaiz.
The Advisor also emphasized the need to increase the interest of Pakistani youth in learning the Russian language and pursuing higher education at Russian universities. The Embassy representatives were introduced to the international youth projects of the World Youth Festival Directorate and expressed their readiness to provide comprehensive support for the development of Russian-Pakistani youth cooperation.
Salman Pervaiz specifically highlighted that Russia, as one of the most multinational and multireligious countries, is meant to continue developing youth platforms, bringing together representatives of different cultures to build friendly dialogue and sustainable ties.
Over 180 representatives of Pakistan participated in the World Youth Festival. Today, as it was noted by the Embassy, young Pakistanis are demonstrating genuine interest in projects within the post-festival work of the World Youth Festival Directorate.
