Regions of the Central Federal District open doors to young people from all over the world

International Friendship Clubs have started operation in most regions of the Central Federal District — in the regions of Lipetsk, Ryazan, Kaluga, Vladimir, Kostroma, Tver, Tambov, Belgorod, Smolensk, Tula, Moscow, Orel and Yaroslavl. Soon they will also be established in the Bryansk, Voronezh, Ivanovo and Kursk regions. International Friendship Clubs is a flagship project of the World Youth Festival Directorate, implemented as part of the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation on the preservation of the post-festival legacy.

"International Friendship Clubs are a new permanent platform for communication between the youth of foreign countries and Russia. The project gives an impetus to the development of international cooperation and forms an international community of young people who are ready to communicate, make friends, share experience and knowledge. Now the opening of the Clubs has been completed in almost all subjects of the Central Federal District - Russian youth from these regions will be strengthening cooperation with leaders from Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, Middle East", said Daniil Bisslinger, Advisor on International Cooperation to the Head of Rosmolodezh, Director General of the World Youth Festival Directorate.

Representatives of the Central Federal District will be interacting with the youth from 46 countries. Among them are China, Türkiye, the Republic of Moldova, Belarus, Madagascar, Brunei, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Algeria, Indonesia, East Timor, Bulgaria, Bahrain, Morocco, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay, Sao Tome and Principe, Greece, Mozambique, Israel, Chad, Oman, Angola, Ethiopia, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Norway, Cuba, Costa Rica, Chile, Guatemala, Spain, Andorra, Cote d'Ivoire, Togo, Cameroon, Nepal, Romania, Slovenia, Austria, Lichtenstein, Macedonia.

As part of the Clubs' activities, representatives of Russian and foreign youth will conduct international language webinars, master classes and interviews with public leaders from different countries, participate in volunteer activities, create joint platforms to exchange information, attract new participants, communicate and more.

"International Friendship Clubs are a project aimed at preserving the traditions and ideas built by Russian and foreign participants of the World Youth Festival. The youth and students of the Vladimir region are actively engaged in the project as they are eager to share the way Russia lives and learn about the lives of our friends abroad. They are trying to develop joint projects, continue communicating with young people from different countries and show their hospitality and readiness to always give a helping hand", said Yelena Yanina, Deputy Minister of Education and Youth Policy of the Vladimir region.

Participants of the International Friendship Clubs will also be offered joint scientific, educational, cultural and sports events. The Clubs operate in 5 tracks: media, entrepreneurship, civic activity, regional specifics and community.

Overview: 

The World Youth Festival took place on March 1–7, 2024 in Sirius, according to the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. The WYF-2024 brought together 20,000 young leaders from 190 countries.

In the future, the World Youth Festival will become a platform for the development of a permanent international youth movement aimed at creating a just multipolar world. On the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation, the WYF will be held in Russia on a regular basis – once in six years. Also, every six years 10,000 young people from all over the world will get together at the International Youth Festival, and international themed gatherings and events will be held under the auspices of the WYF. International Friendship Clubs are included in the list of instructions of the President of the Russian Federation on the preservation and development of the festival heritage.
