More than 62,000 applications from participants from 175 countries have been submitted for the World Youth Festival Assembly

The application campaign for the World Youth Festival Assembly has ended. The WYFD Assembly will be held from September 17 to 21, 2025 in Nizhny Novgorod. Registration for participants was opened on the birthday of the World Youth Festival on April 16. Applications could be submitted by young people aged 14 to 35 from Russia and abroad.

“The World Youth Festival Assembly is the key event of the year in the field of international youth cooperation. It has sparked great interest among young people from all over the world. Applications for participation were received from more than 62 thousand young people from 175 countries and 89 regions of Russia. Participants from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm Krai, Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow regions, and the Republic of Tatarstan showed high activity. I am sure that every year the Assembly will attract the attention of an increasing number of young people, because Russia is a country of opportunities where you can unlock your potential and use your talents," said Grigory Gurov, head of Rosmolodezh.

Applications for participation have been received from Europe, North, Central and South America, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and even Australia. Young people from Morocco (2,315 applications), Uzbekistan (1,759 applications), India (1,687 applications), Ethiopia (1,174 applications) and Pakistan (1,078 applications) showed the greatest interest.

The children’s program will also be held at the World Youth Festival Assembly. The international event will be attended by 200 teenagers aged 14 to 17 from Russia and abroad. According to the results of registration for the WYF Assembly, more than 12 thousand teenagers, including more than 2 thousand from foreign countries, submitted applications for participation. "As part of the application campaign, we set the goal of attracting truly active, motivated, caring young people. It is encouraging to see successful entrepreneurs, opinion leaders, and accomplished IT specialists among the contestants. Those people who are already changing their field or are ready to launch breakthrough projects. There is an important job ahead to select 2,000 of the most worthy candidates, so that a team of real leaders of tomorrow will gather at the Meeting. At the same time, we are doing everything possible to make the Assembly program as rich as possible for them: every day should bring participants new knowledge, inspiration and real opportunities for growth. We want the Assembly to become not just an event, but a powerful start for new ideas and projects," said Dmitry Ivanov, Director General of the World Youth Festival Directorate.

200 foreign guests will travel to 10 Russian regions after the main program of the Assembly. They will be immersed in the history, culture, and traditions of Russia.

This year the Assembly will be held for the first time and has already attracted great interest among the participants. At the registration stage, everyone provided detailed information about themselves and their competencies, as well as presented an idea or project in detail. By July 30, candidates can also additionally prepare a video that demonstrates their motivation to participate in the Assembly and practical experience. The experts have already started analyzing the fully completed applications, they will have to select 2,000 of the best young people who will travel to Nizhny Novgorod in September. Those who have a large portfolio with proven achievements, demonstrate expertise in their field, and are motivated to develop international cooperation and share experience with other participants will be invited to participate in the Assembly.

The Assembly will bring together young leaders aged 14 to 35 from Russia and abroad. The participants will be representatives of the media, creative industries, sports, education and science, public administration, entrepreneurship and IT. The Assembly is being held on the instruction of Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, as part of the national project "Youth and Children". The event will be held in the format of an interactive modular platform. As part of the business program, participants will enjoy immersive shows, battles on trending youth topics, workshops, case studies and master classes from leading experts. Auditions for labels and pitching projects will also be held at the Assembly site. Young people will be able to test themselves in extreme sports, become the authors of the biggest picture in the world, and much more.

Overview:

The World Youth Festival took place on March 1–7, 2024 in Sirius, according to the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. The WYF-2024 brought together 20,000 young leaders from 190 countries.

On the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation, the WYF will be held in Russia on a regular basis – once in six years. Also, every six years 10,000 young people from all over the world will get together at the World Youth Festival Forum, and in between, international themed assemblies for 2,000 participants will be held under the auspices of the WYF. The first Assembly is scheduled to take place in September 2025 in Nizhny Novgorod. Festival events of various formats will be held in Russia annually.

According to the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation on the preservation and development of the Festival legacy, the World Youth Festival Directorate continues the work aimed at strengthening international youth cooperation.
