International Friendship Clubs of Siberian Federal District Strengthen Cooperation with Youth from 20 Foreign Countries
International Friendship Clubs have been launched in all subjects of the Siberian Federal District. Opening ceremonies were held in the Republics of Altai, Khakassia and Tyva, the Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk Regions, Altai and Krasnoyarsk Territories.
“On the instruction of the President of Russia, following the World Youth Festival, work aimed at strengthening international youth cooperation continues. One of the key projects is International Friendship Clubs that bring together young leaders from Russia’s regions and foreign countries. Clubs are being opened in every subject of our country and anyone can join them. The project served as a platform not only for informal communication and friendship, but also for creating joint programmes as well as experience and knowledge exchange,” said Advisor on International Cooperation to the Head of Rosmolodezh, Director General of the World Youth Festival Directorate Daniil Bisslinger.
Young people from the Siberian Federal District will be interacting with representatives of 20 countries: India, Kazakhstan, Kenia, Republic of Fiji, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Republic of Sierra Leone, Jordan, Kuwait, Hungary, Central African Republic, Burundi, Malawi, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Mali, Republic of Kongo, Eswatini, Republic of Maldives.
Russian and foreign Club participants will hold international language webinars, master classes and interviews with public opinion leaders from different countries, engage in volunteering and much more.
“International Friendship Clubs are the legacy of the World Youth Festival and the initiative that brings together all regions of our country. First and foremost, it’s a territory of interaction, communication, openness and new creative projects devoted to international friendship. The Clubs promote moral and spiritual values and the Russian language abroad, give a chance to make new connections at the international level, establish cooperation with compatriots and more,” said Head of Department for Youth Policy and Public Development Programmes of the Altai Territory Ekaterina Chetoshnikova.
Participant of the International Friendship Club of the Altai Territory Muhammadsino Komili noted that thanks to the Club, young people can broaden their horizons and get a first-person account of the distinctive features of different cultures.
Overview:
The World Youth Festival took place on March 1–7, 2024 in Sirius, according to the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of international youth cooperation. The WYF-2024 brought together 20,000 young leaders from 190 countries.
On the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation, the WYF will be held in Russia on a regular basis – once in six years. Also, every six years 10,000 young people from all over the world will get together at the International Youth Festival, and in between, international themed gatherings and events will be held under the auspices of the WYF. Festival events of various formats will be held in Russia annually.
According to the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation on the preservation and development of the Festival legacy, the World Youth Festival Directorate continues work aimed at strengthening international youth cooperation.
