The premiere of the documentary "The Actor of Our Time" was held in Tashkent, in which famous Russian and foreign theater and film figures shared their secrets of acting. Sergey Bezrukov, Emir Kusturica, Alexander Kott, Farhad Mahmudov and Grigory Zaslavsky were among the participants. In the first few days after the premiere, the film received more than half a million views on various platforms.
One of the documentary creators was Adadiy Ibragimov, a participant of the World Youth Festival 2024 and the WYF Assembly 2025. He acted as an executive producer and editor. The young man is now a fifth-year student at the Production Faculty of the Tashkent branch of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography. Adadiy shared that his participation in the WYFD international events helped him understand in many ways that any international project can be solved through joint efforts. So, Adadiy appealed to the university branch administration with a request to support the organization of the premiere.
The young man noted that this film is a study tracing the history of the acting profession from the first ritual performances of the ancient world to the diversity of modern world schools. This is a study of how an actor is formed: how craft becomes art, technique becomes organic, and the artist becomes a carrier of cultural memory and emotional experience of the era.
"The main feature of this project is that it was created by a young team of filmmakers. The team consists of students and recent graduates from specialized creative universities, for many of whom this project was their first major professional experience," said Adadiy Ibragimov.
The project was implemented with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, the All-Russian State University of Cinematography (VGIK) named after Sergei Gerasimov and the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS). The premiere of the film in Tashkent was made possible thanks to the assistance of specialized cultural institutes of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
