On October 31, a meeting took place in Tashkent between Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Chair of the Government of the Russian Federation and representatives of youth projects and programmes, including WYF-2024 participants from Uzbekistan.
One of the main topics of discussion was the World Youth Festival and work related to its legacy. Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the significant interest of young people from Uzbekistan in international projects in Russia. A total of 243 people from this country participated in the WYF-2024, with more than 2,700 applications submitted.

According to him, this dialogue between young leaders from Russia and Uzbekistan will continue. For instance, on the instruction of the President, the International Youth Forum will be held in September 2025. Additionally, the international shifts will be expanded as part of All-Russian and regional youth forums and year-round youth educational centers.

“You are aware that our country places significant emphasis on the international youth agenda. Some of you personally participated in the World Youth Festival, which took place on the Sirius Federal Territory. When organizing such an event, it was very important for us that young people from all over the world, including our fraternal Republic of Uzbekistan, visited us, saw the infrastructure we had created and took part in the events”, said Dmitry Chernyshenko.
Dmitry Chernyshenko also spoke about the International Friendship Clubs programme, which will help young people from Uzbekistan become better acquainted with the Russian culture and regional specifics. Work in this area is already underway as Friendship Clubs have opened in Bashkortostan and the Omsk Region, whose members will work to strengthen international cooperation with youth from Uzbekistan.

“Rosmolodezh is committed to strengthening international youth relations. It is important for us to help young people from Russia and other countries find points of contact in various fields. Joint projects and programmes are contributing to the development of modern society, which is built on friendly relations between countries”, emphasized Denis Ashirov, State Secretary and Deputy Head of Rosmolodezh.
Meeting participants and the Deputy Chair of the Government of the Russian Federation also discussed joint projects and initiatives dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, volunteer programmes, and a system for monitoring the information space to identify and block illegal content.

At the end of the meeting, Dmitry Chernyshenko presented participants with commemorative WYF-2024 medals.
