Daniil Bisslinger Visited International Student Self-Governance Forum “Uniting Students” in Moscow
On November 18, the Patrice Lumumba People’s Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) hosted a meeting of participants of the International Student Self-Governance Forum “Uniting Students” with Daniil Bisslinger, Director General of the World Youth Festival Directorate.
Daniil Bisslinger shared the experience of organizing the World Youth Festival in Sochi and future plans of the Festival Directorate with 80 student leaders from 10 countries. He spoke about the opportunities that are opening up for young people from Russia and countries taking part in the forum. In addition, student leaders learned about ways to maintain efficiency when working in a big team, and what skills, gained while studying at university, can be useful in professional life.
"The first secret of efficiency is multitasking. And as for working in a team, it is always important to keep an eye on relationships, it is necessary to develop communication skills, interact with the team and get to know each other. These skills play a crucial role along with professional qualities," Director General of the World Youth Festival Directorate shared with the participants.
The participants also learned about how projects like the World Youth Festival can be implemented in their countries and invited representatives of the Directorate to visit them.
"Today, the Forum participants had an opportunity to address their questions regarding international cooperation to one of the main organizations for international youth cooperation in Russia, the World Youth Festival Directorate. We talked about the results of the Festival and future plans. The guys also learned about the opportunities that our country offers to foreign students," said Nikolay Zhdanov, Chairman of the Association of Students and Student Unions of Russia, Head of the ‘Student Self-Governance’ programme of the Russian Union of Youth.
Let us remind you that on November 17–20, RUDN is hosting the International Forum of Student Self-Governance “Uniting Students”. It brought together 80 student leaders from 10 countries to exchange experience of developing student self-governance in different countries and create a network of cooperation. The Forum will result into creating a collection of best foreign practices of student councils and student self-governance bodies.
