On April 14, an exhibition dedicated to the World Youth Festival’s Birthday opened in Nizhny Novgorod. The biggest international youth event took place from March 1 to 7 on the Sirius federal territory, bringing together 20,000 young leaders from 190 countries.
The first visitors included participants of the International Friendship Club of the Nizhny Novgorod Region from Russia, India, Morocco and other countries. Club activists dived into the city's atmosphere, practiced Russian, and discussed the importance of international youth initiatives.
The exhibition featured 80 vivid photographs displayed on columns along the city's main street – Bolshaya Pokrovskaya. Exhibition visitors learned 40 interesting facts about the WYF-2024. For example, Nizhny Novgorod residents explored the key events and famous speakers of the Festival, main facilities of the World Youth City, and the WYF International Airport, watched thousands of young people from around the world dressed in national costumes participate in the “World Youth Parade”, learned about foreign participants' trips under the regional programme, and much more.
“This tour was absolutely amazing! Attending the exhibition about the World Youth Festival and learning so much about Bolshaya Pokrovskaya street, the city and its history is priceless. On top of that, we practiced Russian in a lively, friendly atmosphere, among people from different countries. I really enjoyed it. We shared our impressions and got a sense of unity that such events bring. Thank you for this wonderful experience!”, shared Pirot Aland Abbas, participant of the International Friendship Club of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
In September 2024, Nizhny Novgorod will host the World Youth Festival Assembly. The event will bring together 2,000 young leaders from Russia and abroad.
