On November 7, Barnaul hosted the "Legacy of the WYF-2025" summit. The event brought together 50 young representatives, including active participants in the activities of the WYFD International Friendship Club of the Altai Territory and participants of the World Youth Festival 2024. Russian and international students also attended the summit.
Participants from Russia, Afghanistan, South Africa, China, India, Egypt, and Kazakhstan also took part in the event. The summit was aimed at creating conditions for the development of international diplomacy among young people. Participants attended strategic sessions with representatives from youth associations and government officials, where they reviewed the activities of the WYFD International Friendship Club for the 2024-2025 period. They also developed a roadmap for promoting international cooperation among the youth of the Altai Territory, and discussed the role of projects in facilitating this cooperation. As a result, participants gained practical skills in designing social projects and applying for grants. Additionally, they created the groundwork for future collaboration.
"The WYF-2025 Legacy Summit clearly demonstrates to Russian and foreign youth that we have a platform in our region where everyone can communicate, make friends, create something new, and offer their ideas. We held a panel discussion, where experts from the representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Barnaul, the Government of the Altai Territory, and distinguished guests from the Republic of Kazakhstan were in ongoing dialogue with the participants. They answered their questions and the number of questions demonstrated a high interest in our event. During the project session, we observed the formation of new acquaintances. We are pleased to see that Russian and foreign young people communicate in the language of friendship." — said Valeria Volkomorova, leader of the WYFD International Friendship Club.
The summit was organized as part of the implementation of the integrated youth policy development program in the constituent entities of Russia, "Region for Young People", under the regional project "Russia - the Country of Opportunities (Altai Territory)", which is part of the national project "Youth and Children". The event was co-organized by the WYFD International Friendship Club in the Altai Territory.
